While SIMCO Construction Inc. takes pride in its large scale projects, the team is also very experienced in smaller project management.  Sometimes the smaller projects are often the most complex and require heavy coordination among the team. Experience Modification Rate (EMR)

SIMCO has maintained an EMR below 1.00 for the last 13 years and below 0.85 for 11 of those years.

 

Environmental Health & Safety

SIMCO Construction, Inc. is committed to a safe and healthy work environment.  Safety is imperative on every project regardless of size or location.  We employ a full time safety director with Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Hygiene and Chemistry.  The safety director and management team work together to ensure safety is always a top priority. We conduct weekly company safety meetings that include safety training and open dialog.  This allows our employees to communicate any questions, concerns, and safety suggestions.  We believe employee participation is an essential key to our safety culture success.    

At SIMCO we believe that training, planning, communication, execution, and verification are keys to an effective safety culture.
 

  • Training: Over 50 training programs not including certifications for equipment, first aid, scaffolding, etc.
  • Planning: Including but not limited to JSA, Job Scope, Permits, SDS, EAP, Lift Plan, etc.
  • Communication: Verbally communicate the plan with the supervisor, foreman  and/or lead-man.
  • Execution: Execute the plan provided. Stop and communicate to management if unsure or if the plan is inadequate.
  • Verification: safety inspections
